Syuzanna Harutyunyan wins Homogenous Catalysis Award

Prof. Syuzanna Harutyunyan (University of Groningen) is the Homogeneous Catalysis Award winner of 2017. Her work focuses on developing new methods to synthesise molecules that are useful in the pharmaceutical, fine-chemical or agrochemical industries. Professor Harutyunyan receives £2000, a medal and a certificate. The jury mentioned her pioneering work on asymmetric synthesis, establishing an entirely new role for Cu(I)-based catalysts and the use of Lewis acid and Grignard reagent combinations.
