Yesterday, ARC CBBC opened its first own lab, on the fourth floor of the Vening Meinesz Building B of Utrecht University. Speeches were given by Utrecht University Rector magnificus Henk Kummeling, President of the ARC CBBC Supervisory Board Marjan Oudeman and ARC CBBC Scientific director Bert Weckhuysen. The official opening act was executed by Henk Kummeling and Dean of the Faculty of Science Isabel Arends, by filling a glass version of the ARC CBBC logo with a blue liquid.
Roadtrip to Land of Sustainable Chemistry
After the official opening, the guests were invited for a ‘Roadtrip through the Land of Sustainable Chemistry’. For the occasion, the PhD candidate office and lab rooms were renamed Researchers’ Hot Springs, Nanoparticles River, Carbon Mountains and Coating Canyons. PhD candidates, a postdoc researcher and a Master student gave the guests an insight into their work.
The presentation of a wall poem, especially written for the ARC CBBC researchers by the Utrecht city poet Ingmar Heytze, was the final part of the program.
Many of our founding partners were present at this vibrant event. Check out the photo registration.
