20th International Conference on Theoretical Aspects of Catalysis (ICTAC-20) - Delft

The 20th International Conference on Theoretical Aspects of Catalysis (ICTAC-20) will take place in the historic city of Delft, The Netherlands, July 6-10, 2026.

The anniversary ICTAC-20 will highlight how theoretical catalysis is evolving--from the molecular description of active sites and mechanisms toward mastering complexity, dynamics, cooperativity, and data-driven discovery. We aim to bring together the global community to discuss how advanced simulation techniques, high-throughput data, and AI-driven methods can work in synergy with cutting-edge experiments to meet today’s grand challenges in catalysis.

The abstract submission is open! Submission deadline is February 15, 2026!

We welcome submission reporting computational and experimental results contributing to the development of our fundamental understanding of catalytic phenomena and bringing us closer to catalysis by design.

We’ve managed to secure a very strong lineup of keynote speakers from all over the world and aim at having a large attendance from the Dutch chemical community. Next to keynote lectures by the renowned leaders in the field, the conference will feature over 40 oral contributions and poster sessions. Furthermore, we plan to organize a session dedicated to quantum chemistry and computational catalysis in industry to showcase the critical role modern chemical theory and advanced computational tools play in industrial R&D and to discuss fundamental challenges on the way towards catalysis by design.

Keynote speakers:

- Heather Kulik (MIT, USA)
- Nicola Gaston (University of Auckland, New Zealand)
- Céline Chizallet (IFPEN, France)
- Jun Cheng (Xiamen University, China)
- Paul Dauenhauer (University of Minneapolis, USA)
- Marc Koper (Leiden University, Netherlands)
- Philippe Sautet (UCLA, USA)
- Adrian Mulholland (University of Bristol, UK)
- Veronique Van Speybroeck (Ghent University, Belgium)
- Vassiliki-Alexandra Glezakou (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA)

On behalf of the organizers:
Evgeny Pidko (TU Delft)
Kevin Rossi (TU Delft)
Guana Li (Wageningen University)
Ivo Filot (TU Eindhoven)
