Hydrogen from water costs a lot of energy and it is a slow process. Therefore we need a catalyst to speed up the process. Platinum is a very good catalyst but also very scarce and thus expensive. But can we find alternatives for this very expensive metal? ARC CBBC Marie Brands (UvA) explains.
