Matteo Monai (UU) receives NWO M1 Grant

Matteo Monai, tenure track assistant professor in the ICC group at Utrecht University, received an NWO M1 grant to fund a PhD project on curiosity-driven research into dynamic stimulated catalysis. Matteo will use intermittent light to change the surface chemistry of CO2 hydrogenation catalysts over time, to make them work faster than possible under static conditions. Using time-resolved spectroscopy, he aims to find out how to change the light stimulation in order to boost catalytic activity and selectivity towards methanol, an important chemical building block.

Congratulations Matteo!
