We are proud to announce that Michael Lerch has been awarded a prestigious ERC Starting Grant for the project TactoChem. The project takes inspiration from the human sense of touch — particularly the baby grasp reflex — to develop a new generation of robots that feel and move through chemistry instead of electronics. This novel approach will break new ground towards enabling softer and safer robots for care, collaborative work, and medical interventions.
