Tomáš obtained a PhD degree in Chemistry from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. During his doctoral studies, he focused on catalysis and nanomaterials, with research projects on copper-supported nanoparticles for ethanol dehydrogenation and on the development of nanostructured catalysts such as inorganic nanofibers. He also gained international experience through research stays at CNR in Milan and Pisa, as well as at MIT in Boston. In September 2025, Tomáš joined the MCC group in Utrecht University as a postdoctoral researcher within the CBBC consortium. His project focuses on investigating the stability of Cu-based catalysts for high-pressure CO₂ hydrogenation, combining model systems with advanced electron microscopy, in collaboration with TU Delft where ALD will be applied for support and nanoparticle modification.
