Multiphase Flows, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Porous Media, Packed Bed Reactors

About me

I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pune, followed by a Master's degree in Energy Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Trichy. After which, I completed my PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where I focused on understanding the fundamentals of pore- and particle-scale multiphase flows in porous media and packed bed reactors. Following my PhD, I began my post-doctoral journey as a Maria Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship at Eindhoven University of Technology and Technical University of Munich.

About my research

My current research project is on electrochemical reactors for sustainable alkane dehydrogenation. The ambition of the project is to develop advanced computational fluid dynamics for electrochemical reactor to optimize the non-oxidative dehydrogenation of short-chain alkanes. I will emphasize on up-scaling and the development of novel reactor designs with optimized geometries by incorporating detailed mechanisms of mass and heat transfer, electrochemical transport coupled to the reaction kinetics in the computational model. This work will bridge the gap between material science advancements and practical reactor engineering, supporting the transition to a sustainable, CO2-neutral chemical industry.
