About me
I obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. Afterwards I did a master’s degree in sustainable energy technology due to my interest in renewable energy sources and the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables. I continued with a PhD project centered around solar cells.About my research
My research focuses on defect states in perovskite solar cells. Perovskites are a relatively new, highly promising material for use in solar cells. Defect states present in this material lead to a reduction in efficiency, mainly by lowering the open circuit voltage the solar cell produces. I am using highly sensitive photocurrent measurements to obtain information on the energetic nature of these defect states. By better understanding, and subsequentially reducing the impact of defect states, perovskite solar cells can become suitable for commercial application.Academic career
