About me
I was born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1998. I obtained my BSc and MSc degrees from the Izmir Institute of Technology. During my MSc studies, I focused on synthesizing porous organic polymers, employing them across diverse fields, including aqueous zinc-ion batteries and iodine capture research. Subsequently, I joined the Molecular Inorganic Chemistry group as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Otten in April 2024. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, or traveling.
Academic career
2024- present : PhD student in Molecular Energy Materials group under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Otten.
Teaching Assistant 2021-2023
Worked as a teaching assistant for general chemistry and analytical chemistry lab courses in Izmir Institute of Technology.
MSc 2021-2023: Master’s degree in Chemistry
Conducted research for thesis on designing new porous organic polymers aimed at energy storage applications and environmental remediation.
BSc 2017-2021: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
Conducted research for thesis on the synthesis of organoboron compounds and investigated their catalytic activity for a range of substrates.
