About myself

I’m from Taiwan. I finished my bachelor’s studies at National Taiwan Normal University. Afterward, I moved to Amsterdam to take my master’s degree at Universiteit van Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Since 2018 August, I joined ARC CBBC to carry out my PhD research at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.

As a researcher, I am passionate about

My research interests are organic synthesis and catalysis.

At the moment I work on

Currently I’m working on designing an energy efficient method to produce polyesters. Although esterification is a well-developed and straightforward chemistry, the current methods used in industry still has room for improvement in terms of sustainability. Together with Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, Universiteit van Amsterdam and Akzo-Nobel, efficient and sustainable catalytic methods for polyesterification are targeted in order to replace conventional methodology in industry.

Within ARC CBBC, I wish to accomplish

I aim to create energy efficient catalytic methods for polyesterification in order to replace conventional systems used in industry. Ideally, the new system can be used as a standardized method for large production in industry. ARC CBBC provides various training activities to improve our knowledge and presentational skills for society. To this end, I would like to take these advantages to become a better scientist and help people understand the role of science in our society.
