About me
I am a dutchman born and raised abroad (born in Australia, and lived further in Indonesia, Portugal, and Azerbaijan) until arriving to the Netherlands for my studies. This lifestyle has helped me become a very open minded and laid back individual. Beyond the lab I prefer high intensity activities, you can find me soaking up different cultures through travel, scaling up rock faces, and catching waves on my surfboard.
About my research
My research focuses on utilizing atomic layer deposition methods to improve the lifetime of Cu-based catalysts for the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol. By getting a better understanding of the deactivation processes, improvements can be made on rational catalyst designs. I am very keen on collaborating with many respected researchers within and learning new approaches related to heterogeneous catalysis. I am keen on contributing to rational catalyst design for future green hydrogenation catalysts.
