About me
I truly believe in the transition to a circular economy with a strong focus on sustainability and the recovery and reuse of valuable resources and components. As a membrane scientist I am intrinsically motivated to contribute to the transition from the current linear system to a truly circular economy, as separations are an inherent aspect of circularity. This transition is a major exercise requiring intensive intertwining of fundamental science and industrial relevance. ARC CBBC provides an inspiring platform to conduct truly fundamental, interdisciplinary research in collaboration with leading and important industrial partners.
About my research
As a membrane scientist I am proud that, together with my colleagues, I established our own membrane laboratories at the TU/e. It makes me proud that we are a truly multidisciplinary group that connects materials chemistry and process technology to design membranes for large-scale sustainable industrial separations. Scientifically I am very excited when I manage to tailor the membrane chemistry in such a way that I can control the separation process. Moreover, I am happy to experience that students and scientists select our group to perform research. I am privileged to have the opportunity to contribute to their educational and professional development.
