Key expertises

Heterogeneous catalysis, CO2 hydrogenation, computational chemistry, reaction mechanisms

About me

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Science and Technology in Delft and Leiden. With a fascination for physical chemistry, I continued with a Master’s degree in Chemistry at Leiden University, with an internship in Evgeny Pidko’s group at TU Delft. That internship helped me land my current PhD position, which I started on August 1st, 2024. Outside of work, I love watching Formula 1 and I have recently picked up a new hobby – crochet!

About my research

The goal of my project is to contribute to the efficient conversion of CO2 into valuable chemicals. My focus is on studying the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol on bimetallic heterogeneous catalysts through the use of various computational chemistry methods. By gaining a deeper understanding of the underlying deactivation mechanisms and reaction pathways, I aim to support the rational design of more efficient and durable catalysts. I am keen on collaborating with experimentalists to bridge computational insights with experimental findings, deepening my understanding of heterogeneous catalysis from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
