About me

In my group we work on “Renewable energy driven chemical conversion of base molecules such as CON2/O2 and CH4” to make green chemical building blocks. Our emphasis is to investigate plasma assisted chemical conversion processes, possibly combined with (electro-) catalysis and electrochemically driven membranes. Plasma assisted chemical conversion processes enable non-thermal processes in which internal excitation of molecules might provide novel pathways which are potentially energy efficient and selective. We are motivated to contribute to the research themes of ARC CBBC as we are convinced that the electrification of the industrial processes, enabled through the use of plasmas, is one of the key themes of this consortium.

About my research

  • Plasma assisted catalytic conversion of N2/O2 into NO and NO2.
  • Plasma conversion of CO2 into CO and O2
  • Plasma pyrolysis and dry reforming of CH4 for CO2 neutral H2 and syngas production
