About me

I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, followed by a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. After which, I completed my PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D), where my research area focused on development of the Eulerian Multi-fluid CFD model of a scaled-down Basic Oxygen Furnace and understanding the gas induced liquid-phase mixing behaviour under various blowing conditions. Following my PhD, I have worked as Principal Project Scientist at IIT-D in collaboration with Defense Research & Development Organization, India. Following, I began my post-doctoral journey at Eindhoven University of Technology.

About my research

My current research project is on electrochemical reactors for sustainable alkane dehydrogenation. The ambition of the project is to develop advanced computational fluid dynamics for electrochemical reactor to optimize the non-oxidative dehydrogenation of short-chain alkanes. I will emphasize on up-scaling and the development of novel reactor designs with optimized geometries by incorporating detailed mechanisms of mass and heat transfer, electrochemical transport coupled to the reaction kinetics in the computational model. This work will bridge the gap between material science advancements and practical reactor engineering, supporting the transition to a sustainable, CO2-neutral chemical industry.
