About me
Siyu Li studied Macromolecular Chemistry at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and obtained her bachelor’s degree there with the honor of Excellent Graduate in 2016. Then she obtained her master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the autumn of 2018. In November of 2018, she started her PhD in TU/e within ARC CBBC. In her free time, she’d like to do some reading, painting, travel, and photography.About my research
Waterborne coating is in high demand today for its environmental and health advantages, but many challenges remain currently. By designing a new hybrid strawberry-shape supracolloids, she is aiming to tune the interaction between the inorganic and organic phases. Furthermore, by crosslinking the supracolloids, the timing of crosslinking and the film drying processes were linked to film nanostructure, which eventually determine the final waterborne film properties such as chemical/physical resistance and mechanical properties. And Siyu is also interested in the dynamic and kinetic effect during film formation caused by different interactions between the inorganic, organic, and water phase.Academic career
